This article will describe how you can get an accurate minimal material estimate for your part using the Bounding Box tool. A Bounding Box is a ‘box’ that tightly encompasses your part geometry, giving you height, width and length values for the part. Recent survey results from a 2017 Sculpteo survey highlighted the top priorities of 3D printing for the industrial sector, in terms of what they want to achieve with 3D printing. It seemed to us that these 3D printing priorities implied that they are also benefits of 3D printing, and some of these benefits are ground-breaking enough to the design and manufacturing industry that they deserve more clarification.
