I own a specialty design company and a customer asked me to enhance one of his products. The project was going to require a merging of various existing geometry with new features modeled from a factory device he sent to me. I work with CATIA V5, so I needed to bring in models from the two different file types and merge them without any loss in translation. I was able to add what was needed to make a single part per the customer’s requirements, had it 3D printed out of steel and then coated. The customer was happy and the project was rewarding. If I had used TransMagic for that project, I would have saved several hours of valuable engineering time.

Since then, I have discovered that TransMagic is a VERY valuable tool that doesn’t care what CAD file you start with or where it’s going. It just works reliably every time.

I was previously using Fusion 360 for format conversions but uploading to the cloud was an extra time-consuming step and an extra monthly cost. Extra time means extra dollars and TransMagic is very worth the time savings to have an onboard, on-demand and intuitive capability.

It’s nice to spend seconds on a file conversion that previously took minutes and one doesn’t have to worry about the internet going down. Over the course of multiple operations or an entire project or a year, that really adds up. It most certainly pays for itself over the span of the annual subscription cost. How much can I say that TransMagic will save? It’s considerable, but the confidence it provides transcends an exact percentage. If I were to accurately estimate a number, I’d say it would have easily saved 10 to 15% on my overall project. The savings would have been considerably higher if I needed to convert more parts. I also feel that the value added that comes from a reduced design cycle time will allow me to raise my hourly or per-project rate.

That was incredible. It repaired the void I saw before and it did not even have me do another operation. It was totally invisible that it did its job. Worked better than expectations.

I have now gone through some C-130 engine files that we deemed unusable, especially for solids and not only did the propeller model do so well. I run a small engineering company that deals with Clients using multiple CAD design packages. Until TransMagic I had become almost used to working with damaged files, and never realized I was missing more than just a few surfaces!
TransMagic has made it possible to open any native CATIA file or version I receive, quickly isolating, repairing and retrieving what I need.
Once native files are saved in a TransMagic format, opening and handling even a large file is surprisingly fast.
Having its own tools in TM is also efficient at making repairs to missing surfaces, before translation.
